South Africa Safaris and Game Reserve Tours
When most think of Africa, they think of the amazing diversity of animals that roam this part of the world. South Africa is certainly no exception and the strong concentration of species here is diverse and enthralling. Perhaps one of the best ways to enjoy these creatures is by going on a Safari trip into the wilds where the animals co-exist in perfect harmony and order. This is not like any zoo or animal farm that you might find in other parts of the world.
Most South Africa safaris take place on a wildlife reserve spanning hundreds if not thousands of kilometers. These reserves are can be owned by either the government or a private institution or individual. They provide a protected space where natural plant and animal species are allowed to go on living in much the same manner as they would have been if left untouched by modern civilization. Here a wide range of animals - usually ones that would naturally occur in the area - are allowed to mingle and benefit from each others presence. They are left completely wild and untouched. Very often visitors may be somewhat disappointed as they may see little if any wildlife while on a game drive, this is to be expected from time to time as the animals are not caged and held up to public scrutiny. Instead they are allowed to follow their own grazing or foraging patterns and to move about freely in the confines of the reserve. Most animals will keep clear of human presence but many of them become quite familiar with the dull hum of safari vehicles and don't mind sticking around for people to see.
There are a wide range of safari experiences available in South Africa. Most of the big game parks and many of the little ones offer game drives and lodging. The Kruger National Park is perhaps the biggest and most organized Safari experience on offer. It offers the chance to see the big five in their natural habitats as well as many other amazing creatures. Each province is home to a number of reserves and wild-life parks where you can stop off and spend some time experiencing Africa. Some are top of the range while others provide more modest budget-type facilities. Whatever the case, you can be sure that there is a little piece of Africa out there just waiting for you to discover it. Book your safari adventure now!
