Photographs are a great way to get a feel for a country. Photographs help you to visualize what you will be likely to see and enjoy whilst on your travels and they also help you to mentally prepare yourself for what you might experience. They can serve to familiarize you with certain places and even help you to meet people you have never seen face to face! They can serve as a fantastic 'window' to other worlds and will help you to acquire a taste for countries which you have never even stepped foot in.

Martin Heigan sent in these amazing shots of the unusual flora which is completely unique and indigenous to South Africa. Most photos were taken a bit of the beaten track, as he likes to explore untouched nature in our vast and beautiful country. Please take a look at the amazing biodiversity in South Africa.
