Jeffrey's Bay

One of the most enchanting stretches of coastline lies between the Tsitsikamma Mountains, the Storms River mouth and on to Jeffrey's Bay.

The Tsitsikamma National Park is one of the most well known hiking areas in South Africa with a 100 kilometer stretch of wild, rocky, isolated beaches, dense indigenous yellowwood and stinkwood forests, and marine reserves that offer a unique underwater trail for divers and scuba enthusiasts.

The coastal zone between Tsitsikamma and Cape St Francis has wide unspoiled beaches with magnificent bird life and sea otters inhabiting the reserves along this stretch, with Oyster Bay being one of the most popular holiday resorts in this area.

Between Cape St Francis and Jeffrey's Bay there are a number of popular resorts such as St Francis Bay, Paradise Beach, and Aston Beach. The Seekoei River Nature reserve and Cape St Francis Marine reserve are definitely not to be missed by any nature lover or wildlife enthusiast. In contrast to the wild rocky coastline of Tsitsikamma, Jeffrey's Bay has wide beaches that offer some of the most beautiful seashells to be found on South African beaches. Jeffrey's Bay is also noted for its ideal surf, making it a wonderful venue for surfers searching for perfect waves.

The local library hosts the magnificent Kritzinger Sea Shell collection and the town has a number of craft and leather work shops.

The town of Jeffrey's Bay has several comfortable hotels and accommodation establishments as well as caravan parks and camp sites catering for everyone's needs.
