Durban is a popular holiday and tourist destination at any time of the year, with visitors traveling from within South Africa’s borders and beyond to enjoy the sun, sand, sea and many attractions of this vibrant city. From 29 July to 3 August 2008, the 29th Durban International Film Festival will give film-makers and audiences an added incentive to visit Durban – to enjoy some of the more than 200 films, representing 95 countries, to be shown in 26 venues throughout the city.

The Centre for Creative Arts was established in 1996 by the Development and Social Sciences department of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Their main objective is to create opportunities for artists, and to build creative bonds and relationships between the various art forms, such as music, poetry, dancing, filmmaking, art. Seminars, projects, concerts, training programs and workshops are also hosted by the Centre for Creative Arts, to create awareness and promote art to both the adult public and the youth. The centre is responsible for organizing four large festivals every year, of which one is the Time of the Writer Festival.
Out and About
Due to the tremendous success of the previous ten Poetry Africa International Poetry Festivals, it is almost a certainty that the poetry festival scheduled to take place between the 1st and the 6th of October 2007 will be even better than expected. The festival is held in Durban, and is one of the most well attended and supported arts festivals in South Africa.

attracts thousands of runners, spectators and television viewers annually. A world renowned ultra-marathon,
the Comrades Marathoncovers some 90 km between Pietermartizburg and Durban in Kwazulu-Natal.
The South African Comrades Marathon route will challenge will power as well as every muscle and
sinew in the body, but crossing the finish line is the most rewarding experience for a runner.
